IN SHORT SEEN HISTORICAL :

The Chihuahua is regarded as the smallest pedigree dog of the worl and bears the name of the greatest state of the republic of Mexico (Chihuahua).It is admitted that formely this dog lived in freedom in this area and that it was captured and domesticated by natives at the time of Toltèque civilization.Representations of a dwarf dog called "Techichi" which lived in the area of Tula took part in the decoration of architectural elements of this city ; these statues looks of very close the Chihuahua of today.

GENERAL ASPECT :

it is a dog with the collected body, whose most important characteristics are the head in the apple shape and the tail average lenght, which is carried high and bent or round in half-circle with the end pointing towards the lumbar area.

SIGNIFICANT PROPORTIONS :

The lenght of the body is slighty higher than the height with the garrot; one seeks an almost square body, especially in the males;in the females, because of the function of reproduction , a body a little longer is allowed.

BEHAVIOR / CARACTER :

Sharp, vigilant, stirring up and very courageous..a LOVE DOG WHICH TAKES FOR LARGE !
